Who we are

A Hand Around The House is a small local team in Bath. We’re responsible for the details you give us.

What we collect

• Website requests: your name, phone or email, postcode or area, what’s on your list, whether you’re arranging it for someone else, and the page you sent it from.
• Phone calls: your number and the call details. We record calls to and from our number and transcribe them automatically, so our job notes are accurate. Voicemails are recorded and transcribed too.
• Texts and emails: what you send us and what we reply.
• Your jobs: your address, the work, the price and what you’ve paid.

If you give us someone else’s details, please let them know.

Why we use it

• To arrange your free visit and reply to you.
• To price the work, do it and keep a record of it.
• To keep accurate notes of what was said on calls.
• To keep the records the law requires, such as for tax.

Our legal reasons

Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR) we rely on:

• Steps before a contract, and the contract: when you ask for a visit, a price or work.
• Legitimate interests: arranging visits, replying to you, and keeping call recordings and job notes accurate.
• Legal obligation: records we must keep, such as for tax.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell your details or use them for advertising. These companies hold or process them for us:

• Cloudflare: runs this website and our records, sends website requests to our inbox, and transcribes calls.
• Google (Google Workspace): our email.
• Twilio: our phone line and texts, call recordings and voicemail transcripts.

How long we keep it

We keep details only as long as we need them to arrange and do the work, and to keep proper business records.

• Links to call recordings are removed from our records after 90 days.
• Call transcripts and messages not linked to a customer are removed after a year.

Cookies

This website doesn’t use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers.

Cloudflare handles technical details such as your IP address to deliver the site and keep it secure. The request form may use it to block spam.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

• send you a copy of your details
• correct anything that’s wrong
• delete your details
• stop or limit how we use them

Complaints

Please tell us first and we’ll try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
